Why a Quiz Can't Replace a Fitting
The short answer: A quiz takes what you tell it and returns a number. It cannot see your breast shape, it cannot tell whether your band rides up, and it cannot say which of four suitable styles is right for what you wear. A fitting answers all three, and it takes about ten minutes.
Online size tools are everywhere, and they are appealing because they are private and instant. We understand both of those reasons completely. The problem is not that they are online. It is that they are working from guesses you supplied.
What a quiz can and cannot know
| Question | Can a quiz answer it? |
|---|---|
| What is my band size? | Only from a measurement you took yourself, possibly in the wrong place. |
| What is my cup size? | Same, and it is the measurement women most often take loosely. |
| What shape are my breasts? | No. |
| Does my band ride up after an hour? | No. |
| Should I size up or stay exact on this style? | No. It depends on how that style is built. |
| Which of these four bras suits what I actually wear? | No. |
The two measurements, and where they go wrong
Underbust, taken firmly, directly under the bust, with the tape level all the way round. Bust, taken across the fullest point, without pulling. Those two numbers are the whole input.
In the fitting room, the mistakes we see every week are a tape that slopes down at the back, a tape pulled tight across the bust, and a measurement taken over a bra that was already the wrong size. Each of those shifts the result by a size or more.
What ten minutes in a store adds
Someone takes the two measurements properly. Then they look at shape, ask what you wear, and bring you two or three styles rather than one. You try them. You look in a mirror. You find out that the band you have been wearing has been riding up for years, and why.
Most styles run M to 3XL, with core styles reaching 5XL. Band-and-cup styles come in bands 34 to 44, cups A to DD. Between sizes on a seamless style, go up one. On a push-up, stay at your exact band and cup. A quiz will not tell you that, because it does not know which you are holding.
If you would rather not come in
Plenty of women would rather not, and that is fine. Message us and we will do the measurement with you on video, or talk you through it on WhatsApp without video at all. It is private, nothing is recorded, and you never have to buy.
Questions women ask us
So should I never use an online size tool?
Use it as a starting point if it helps you feel ready. Just do not treat the output as your size. Treat it as a guess to check.
How long does a fitting actually take?
About ten minutes for the measurement, and longer only if you want to try several styles.
Do I have to undress?
You can be measured over light clothing. Our fitting rooms are private and you decide what you are comfortable with.
Will someone pressure me to buy?
No. The fitting is free and there is no obligation. Women come in, get measured, and leave without buying every day.
