Buying Bras Abroad? What Tk 2,000 Buys You in Dhaka Now
The short answer: A lot of women stock up on bras when they travel, and they are comparing SHAPE against Marks and Spencer or a Bangkok mall rather than against another Dhaka shop. That is a fair comparison to make. The difference is that here you get measured first, and you can exchange within seven days.
“I buy my bras when I travel.” We hear it in the fitting room most weeks, and it is said slightly apologetically, as though it were a criticism. It is not. It is a reasonable thing to do when nobody at home has measured you properly.
What you are actually buying abroad
Two things, and only one of them is the bra.
The first is a product from a brand with a long size run and a size chart you have learned to navigate. That is real value. The second is the feeling of being somewhere that takes the category seriously: a lit department, a fitting room, staff who are not embarrassed. That is also real, and it is the part that has been missing here.
What you are not buying is a fitting for your body. In most of those shops you still pick from a chart.

The three things you cannot bring back in a suitcase
A measurement. Two measurements, ten minutes, in a private room, with someone who does this all day. Imported charts are graded on a different average body, which is why a lean torso with a fuller bust is so often told it is between sizes.
An exchange. Exchange within 7 days of delivery, unworn and unwashed. Exchange only, and panties are excluded. Online orders are not exchanged in stores. A bra bought in Bangkok that turns out wrong is simply wrong.
A restock. When you find the one that works, you can buy it again next month in the same size. That is the part women tell us matters most once they have experienced it.

Is SHAPE cheaper than buying abroad?
Usually, once you count the trip. But the honest answer is that price is not the reason to switch. Being measured, and being able to exchange, is the real difference.
Do you carry the sizes I buy abroad?
Most styles run M to 3XL, with core styles reaching 5XL. Band-and-cup styles come in bands 34 to 44, cups A to DD. If you wear a band and cup size, Comfort Curve Bra runs bands 38 to 44, cups C to DD.
