Four Eid Looks, Four Bras: The Fit-Check Series

Eid outfits are cute and they are stressful. You bought the dress weeks ago. Then the morning comes, you put it on over whatever bra was clean, and you spend the day adjusting instead of eating. This is the page to read the week before, not the morning of.

Start with the day, not the outfit
Eid is a long day. Most women are dressed from before Fajr prayers until late at night, which is fifteen or sixteen hours in the same bra, in heat, with a lot of sitting and standing and hugging. A bra that is slightly wrong at 8am is painful by 8pm.
So the first question is not “what is invisible”. It is “what can I wear for sixteen hours”. Everything at SHAPE is wire-free for this reason. A wire is the first thing to dig in on a long day.
The size-up rule, and the exception
On a seamless style, if you are between sizes, go up one. The fabric is nylon-spandex and it holds. On a push-up such as Comfort Curve Bra, do the opposite and stay at your exact band and cup, because the moulded cup only sits correctly there.
Most styles run M to 3XL, with core styles reaching 5XL. Band-and-cup styles come in bands 34 to 44, cups A to DD.
Three things to do before the day
One: wear the bra for a full day before Eid. Not an hour. A day. That is when you find out whether the band is right.
Two: check the colour against the outfit in daylight, not under a shop light.
Three: if anything needs adjusting more than once, get measured instead. Exchange within 7 days of delivery, unworn and unwashed. Exchange only, and panties are excluded. Online orders are not exchanged in stores.
Questions women ask us
I have one bra and four outfits. Which one?
The Seamless Contour Bra. It is the most versatile thing we make: smooth enough for georgette, supportive enough for a long day, and it works under a kurti.
What about under a saree blouse that is already tight?
A tight blouse does the holding, so you want the least bulk: the Seamless Air Bra. If the blouse is backless, you need a strapless, and the Bare Skin Strapless Bra is our only one.
Is there anything for a heavier bust under silk?
Yes. Plus Size Sculpting Bra runs XL to 5XL and holds shape without a wire.
How late can I come in before Eid?
Come in the week before if you can. The last few days are our busiest, and the fitting is unhurried only if there is time for it.
