Why silk is less forgiving than georgette
Georgette is thin and clings, so it shows lines. Silk is heavier and smoother, and it does something slightly different: it hangs. Hanging fabric needs an uninterrupted surface to hang from. Any ridge becomes a place where the drape breaks and starts again.
That is why a bra that is almost invisible under cotton can ruin a silk suit. The problem is not visibility, it is interruption.
