Will It Feel Too Warm? Bras for Dhaka

Why most bras feel hot here
Three reasons. Thick foam cups trap heat against the skin. Multiple stitched layers hold moisture. And a band that is too tight stops air moving under the bust, which is where sweat collects first. Dhaka adds 80 percent humidity on top, so a bra that is fine in a cooler country can feel like a jacket by 2 pm.
What the fabric does instead
Our seamless styles are knitted from a nylon-spandex blend chosen for two properties: it absorbs sweat from the skin (rather than sitting on top of it) and it dries quickly, so the bra does not stay damp. The cup is one moulded layer, not several stitched ones. There is no wire to heat up. And because the pad slides out on most styles, you can wear it lighter still in May.

Three habits that help more than any bra
- Get the band right. Two fingers should slide under it. A tight band traps heat; a loose one lets the bust rest on the ribcage, where it sweats.
- Own two, rotate them. A bra that dried fully overnight feels cooler than one that did not. Two bras, alternated, also last longer.
- Hand wash, air dry, out of the sun. Sun and hot water stiffen the fabric and slow its drying.
Questions women ask us
Is a padded bra hotter than a non-padded one?
Slightly. If heat is your main issue, slide the pad out on the Air or Contour, or choose the Un-Lined, which is non-padded.
Does the fabric show sweat through a kameez?
It absorbs and dries, so a damp patch on the bra does not sit against the fabric the way a foam cup does.
