Shadow a Store Associate and learn to run a SHAPE store: how customers are received, how fit consultations are conducted, and how a store hits its numbers.
You are on the floor from your first week, taking on more as you are ready.

A SHAPE store is run by one person who is accountable for it. We grow those people ourselves.
The trainee program is how someone with the right instincts, and little or no retail experience, becomes a Store Associate in three months.
The work
What you do during training
- Shadow the Store Associate through the full working day
- Learn to conduct a private fit consultation and make a customer comfortable
- Learn the point of sale, stock receiving and the daily till
- Take on customers and tasks yourself, under supervision, as you are ready
- Record what you learn and act on the feedback you are given
The day
A typical day
- Before opening. Help check the floor, displays, fitting rooms and stock, and sit in on the day’s briefing.
- Trading hours. Watch and then conduct consultations under guidance, learn to recommend and sell, and process sales on the point of sale system.
- Quiet hours. Learn the customer messaging, and go over the day with the Store Associate.
- Closing. Learn how the till is reconciled and the day’s figures are recorded.

Relevant experience, in order of preference:
- Experience in fashion or fashion retail, which is given priority
- Any retail or customer-service experience
- No experience, with a clear willingness to learn and an ability to make a customer comfortable
No experience is required. Experience in fashion or fashion retail is a plus.

- No degree required. We welcome HSC students and HSC graduates; we hire on willingness to learn, not certificates.
- The willingness to be on a shop floor full-time and learn the job properly
- The ability to make a customer comfortable in a private fitting, or the openness to learn it
- Reliability. The store operates every day it is open.
- Working proficiency in Bangla, which is the operating language of the store

Hours and terms
Stores are usually open 11 AM to 9 PM, and most trade on Friday and Saturday. Hours and the weekly off-day vary by location. You are assigned to one home store near where you live.

Compensation and benefits
A paid way into a retail career, with a clear path to running a store.
- BDT 10,000 per month during the three-month training program
- On graduating to Store Associate, BDT 15,000 per month plus a monthly store bonus
- Two festival bonuses
- 20 percent staff discount on SHAPE products, capped at BDT 5,000 per year
- Training in fit consultation, floor leadership, stock management and the point of sale system

What is the trainee program?
