Fit Advisor
Conducts private fit consultations in store, and advises customers on size and product.
Part-time and shift based, at SHAPE stores near where you live. SHAPE recruits Fit Advisors continuously, for stores currently trading and for stores opening.

The job to be done
Conduct private fit consultations that establish a customer’s correct size and recommend suitable products.
Convert those consultations into sales, and maintain contact with the customers you have personally advised.
Purpose
Why this role exists
Most women in Bangladesh have never been professionally measured for a bra. They purchase an estimated size and continue with it.
The fit consultation is SHAPE’s core service and the reason customers choose SHAPE over an ordinary retailer. The Fit Advisor delivers that service.
The work
Responsibilities
Fit consultation
- Conduct private, unhurried consultations with customers who are frequently unsure and sometimes uncomfortable
- Establish the customer’s correct size through measurement and fitting, rather than by estimate
- Record size and fit notes after every consultation
Sales
- Recommend products suited to the customer’s body, clothing and requirements
- Offer the matching or complementary item with every bra
- Inform every customer of the 7-day exchange and the free consultation
- Process the sale on the point of sale system and record the customer’s contact number during the fitting
Customer messaging
- Respond to incoming fit enquiries on WhatsApp and Messenger with accurate product and sizing knowledge
- Prepare size and product recommendations ahead of a customer’s store visit
- Follow up with customers you have personally advised to confirm the fit was correct
- Refer to the Store Associate any matter requiring the person accountable for the store
The day
A typical shift
- Start of shift. Receive the briefing from the Store Associate. Check stock on the floor and the fitting rooms.
- Trading hours. Receive customers, conduct consultations, recommend and sell, process sales, and record size and fit notes.
- Quiet periods. Work the messaging queue allocated by the Store Associate. Prepare recommendations for customers visiting later. Follow up with customers advised previously.
- End of shift. Hand over to the Store Associate: customers served, stock gaps observed, and any matters requiring follow-up.

Who this role suits
This position is suited to university students and to women seeking part-time work with a predictable committed schedule. Most Fit Advisors are studying, and rosters are published at least one week in advance so that shifts can be planned around classes.
Relevant experience, in order of preference:
- Retail sales or customer service in any category
- Any role involving advising a customer on a personal decision
- No prior experience, with demonstrated patience and an ability to listen
Sales experience is not required. The ability to make a customer comfortable in a private setting is required.

This role is for women only. SHAPE’s fit consultations are private and body-sensitive. This is a genuine occupational requirement.

Performance measures
Reviewed monthly:
- Consultations. Fit consultations conducted per shift
- Conversion. Consultations converted into a sale
- Average order value. The average value of your sales
- Attachment rate. Proportion of bra sales with a matching or complementary item
- Records captured. Proportion of consultations with size, fit notes and contact number recorded
- Reviews requested. Google review requests made at the point of collection
Progression
Where this role leads
Fit Advisor, Senior Fit Advisor, Fit Expert, Senior Fit Expert.
Senior grades carry higher pay, discussed directly at the point of promotion. Fit Advisors have also moved into Store Associate positions and head office roles. SHAPE is opening further stores, which increases the number of senior positions available.

When and where you work
Stores are usually open 11 AM to 9 PM, and most trade on Friday and Saturday. Hours and off-days vary by location.
Shifts are six hours within trading hours, so two shifts overlap during the middle of the day. Rosters are published at least one week in advance. You are rostered at stores near where you live.

Pay and what comes with it
Compensation and benefits
- BDT 700 per shift. A shift is six hours.
- A minimum of 15 shifts per month guaranteed, and up to 30 available. State your preference and the roster is built around it.
- A sales incentive against a monthly target
- Two festival bonuses
- 20 percent staff discount on SHAPE products, capped at BDT 5,000 per year
- Training in fit consultation, which is transferable to any customer-facing role

Questions candidates ask
Do I need sales experience?
No. Sales experience is not required. The ability to make a customer comfortable in a private setting is required, along with patience and the ability to listen to someone who is unsure how to ask for help.
How many shifts would I work?
A minimum of 15 shifts per month is guaranteed and up to 30 are available. A shift is six hours. You state your preference and the roster is built around it, published at least one week in advance.
Can I work this around university?
Yes. Most Fit Advisors are studying. Rosters are published at least one week ahead so shifts can be planned around classes, and you can take fewer shifts in an exam month and more in the holidays.
How is this different from the Store Associate role?
A Fit Advisor conducts consultations and sells on shift. The Store Associate is the senior person at the store, works every day it is open, builds the roster and is accountable for the store’s commercial results. Fit Advisors report to the Store Associate at their home store.
