A Bra Built for the Bengali Body
The short answer: many Bengali women have a lean torso and a relatively fuller bust: a narrow ribcage carrying more weight than an imported chart expects. What a lean torso and a fuller bust actually need
- A band that holds on a narrow ribcage. Imported bras are cut for a longer torso; their bands sit low and loose on us, so the straps take the weight and the shoulders pay (back pain and bra fit). The Contour's four-hook band sits firm and level.
- Straps that spread, not dig. More bust on narrower shoulders means a thin strap grooves. Wide straps distribute it.
- A cup that centres. A fuller bust on a lean frame often sits outward (east-west). The moulded cup and side wings bring it to the middle, so the line under a kameez is one smooth curve.
What it looks like on
A round, centred shape under a fitted top; no side spill; no line under a thin white kurti in Coffee (under a thin kameez). Up to DD with the band doing the lifting, not a wire (where lift really comes from).
How to size it
