Weight Went Up or Down? Use the Hooks First, Then Re-Measure

Beige Signature Seamless Bra on a model showing full wireless coverage, SHAPE

The short answer: The hooks are there for exactly this. Move one hook tighter if you lost weight, or one looser if you gained. Wear it for a full day. If the band feels right but the cups gape or spill, your cup size has shifted and you need two fresh measurements. The Signature Seamless Bra gives you four rows to work with.

Your body changed, five kilos up or down, and the bra that fit last month feels wrong. The band digs in or the cups gap. Before you buy a new one, check what the hooks can do. They exist because bodies do not stay the same.

Try the hooks first

Every SHAPE bra ships on the loosest hook. That is deliberate: the fabric relaxes over time, and you tighten as it stretches. If your weight dropped, move one hook in. If it went up, move one out. Wear it for a full day before you judge.

If the band feels comfortable on a new hook but the cups are wrong, that is your signal: the cup size changed, not just the band.

When the hooks are not enough

Three signs you need a re-measure, not just a hook adjustment:

Cups gape at the top. You lost volume and the cup is now too large.

Cups spill over. You gained volume and need a larger cup.

All three hooks feel wrong. The band size itself has shifted.

In all three cases, a two-minute fitting resets your numbers. Walk into any store or message us on WhatsApp for a video fitting.

How weight affects cup and band differently

Change Band effect Cup effect Action
Lost 3–5 kg Slightly loose May gape at top Tighten one hook; re-measure if cups gap
Gained 3–5 kg Slightly tight May spill Loosen one hook; re-measure if cups spill
Lost 8+ kg Noticeably loose Likely too large Full re-measure needed
Gained 8+ kg Noticeably tight Likely too small Full re-measure needed

The two measurements you need

Underbust: wrap the tape snug around your ribcage, just below the breast. Bust: wrap it around the fullest part, keeping the tape level. Those two numbers give your band and cup. A fit advisor can take them over video in under two minutes.

Questions women ask us

How much weight change means I need a new bra?

There is no fixed number. Five kilos might change your cup by one size, or it might not. The test is whether the cups gape or spill after you adjust the hooks.

Should I measure myself at home?

You can, but a fit advisor catches things a tape cannot: shape, projection, where the tissue sits. It takes two minutes and it is free.

Do I need a new bra for every weight change?

Not always. The hooks cover a range. But if you have been on the tightest hook for months and it still does not feel right, a new bra in the right size will feel like a different product.
