Work with SHAPE on one problem

We post problems, not roles. Each one is paid on results, and goes to someone who has already solved it somewhere else.

Short engagements in Dhaka and Chittagong. Between jobs, freelancing, or employed with time on the side: all fine. Field work, not desk work.

The idea

How this works

Monoshita Ayruani started SHAPE in 2019 because most women in Bangladesh had never been measured. Over 200,000 women and seven Dhaka stores later, the fitting room is still the business, and the next stage of growth needs things done outside it, by people who have done them before.

  • One problem, one owner. You work with one person at SHAPE who decides and signs off. A check-in at week two and week four, then as agreed.
  • Paid on results. A day rate where the work is days. A fee per result where the result can be counted. A finder's fee where you bring us something we sign. One page of terms, agreed before you start, paid in BDT.
  • Outside, not at a desk. Everything that can be done at a computer, we can do ourselves. We need people who go out: into malls, onto shop floors, across the table from landlords and partners, and into conversations with the women we serve.

We are looking for the person who did it as the owner or the lead, not as part of a team that did it. Show us the before and the after, and we will believe you.

The four problems

Problem 01 · Field research

Mall scout and shop-floor researcher

Anyone who has walked a city's malls and markets with a notebook and come back with something the owner did not know.

SHAPE is choosing where its next stores go. We need someone who will spend days in Dhaka's malls and shopping streets, count who walks past and who walks in, talk to shop staff, owners and customers, and write down what they actually say. Where women shop for themselves, at what hour, with whom, and what the stores around them get right.

You have done
Observational or ethnographic research, mystery shopping at scale, retail site selection, or opened your own shop and had to understand the street first
Paid
Day rate, plus a bonus if a site you surfaced becomes a signed SHAPE store
You work with
Ovick Alam
Where
Dhaka, on foot

Problem 02 · Proof

Reviews engine across seven stores

Anyone who has taken a business's Google reviews from a few dozen to the hundreds or more, and kept every one of them real.

Seven stores, each with its own Google Business Profile. Design and run the system that turns a good fitting into a review she writes herself, in her own words, the same week. No incentives to customers, no bought reviews, nothing we would be embarrassed to hear read aloud.

You have done
Exactly this, for a restaurant, clinic, salon, gym or retailer. Show us the profile before and after, and tell us how
Paid
A fee for every review still live 30 days after it is posted
You work with
Ovick Alam, then the Manager, Retail Operations once that person starts
Where
Dhaka, in and around the stores

Problem 03 · Partners

Partners who send women to a fitting

Anyone who has built a referral channel from zero: gyms, salons, clinics, workplaces or wedding planners sending people through a door on a code.

A fitting is the product. We need partners whose customers are our customers: bridal, maternity, fitness, workplaces, women's groups. Find them, agree the terms, and make every referral a code we can count at the till.

You have done
Partnerships, affiliate or referral programmes, corporate tie-ups, where you can name the partners and the numbers they sent
Paid
Commission on redeemed codes, with a retainer while the channel builds
You work with
Ovick Alam
Where
Dhaka, in partners' offices and shops

Problem 04 · Chittagong

Chittagong site finder

Anyone who knows Chittagong's retail streets and malls well enough to say which three corners matter, and who owns them.

SHAPE is opening in Chittagong. We need someone on the ground who knows the landlords, the malls and the streets, who can shortlist sites, get us the meetings, and tell us what the rent card does not.

You have done
Leased, opened or scouted retail space in Chittagong, or run a business there and know who owns what
Paid
Finder's fee on signing

Ovick Alam
Where
Chittagong

Solved something we need that is not on this list? Apply anyway, choose "None of these", and tell us what you did and the number.

Selection

Three steps

Bangla or English, whichever is easier for you.

  1. ApplyAbout five minutes. One sentence on what you did and the number, a link we can open, your hours and your fee.
  2. A callTwenty minutes with the person who owns the problem.
  3. A paid trialOne to two weeks on the real problem, then a one-page terms sheet if it works for both sides.

No deadline. Each problem closes when the right person starts on it.

Before you apply

Questions people ask

Is this a job

No. Each problem is a fixed piece of work with one owner at SHAPE, a one-page terms sheet, and payment tied to results. Some run for a few weeks, some for a few months.

Can I do this alongside a job or studies

Yes, if the hours you commit are real. Tell us how many hours a week and for how many weeks, and we plan around that.

How are people paid

A day rate where the work is days, a fee per result where the result can be counted, and a finder's fee or bonus where you bring us something we sign. Terms are agreed in writing before you start. SHAPE pays in BDT.

Is there a deadline

No. Each problem closes when the right person starts on it.
