Lean Build: The Styles Cut for It

The short answer: On a slim frame the usual problem is excess fabric: cups that wrinkle and a band with nothing to grip. The lean-cut styles are VLite Seamless Bra, Seamless Air Bra, Un-Lined Bra, Plunge Lite. If you want shape as well, add padding rather than dropping a size.

“Everything gapes on me.” A slim frame gets told the opposite of what a fuller bust gets told, and both end up buying the wrong size for the same reason: nobody measured either of them.

Why going down a size is the wrong fix

When a cup wrinkles, the instinct is to buy smaller. Sometimes the cup genuinely is too big, and going down is right. Often the cup is the correct volume and the issue is that a soft, unmoulded cup has nothing to hold its shape against.

In that case a smaller size compresses the band uncomfortably without fixing the wrinkle, and what actually solves it is a moulded cup, which holds its own shape regardless of how much it is filled.

The lean-cut styles

Bra Sizes Why it suits a slim frame
VLite Seamless Bra S to XL Our entry bra and the smallest size run we make, starting at S.
Seamless Air Bra M to 3XL The lightest we make, sits very close with no excess.
Un-Lined Bra M to XL Non-padded and shaped, for a natural close line.
Plunge Lite M to XL Cut lower and closer, for a deeper neckline.
Seamless T-Shirt Bra M (32-34) to 2XL (38-40) Moulded cup that holds a round shape, sized by band range in inches.

If you want more shape

Heavier padding at your correct size is the answer, not a smaller size. Sure Cover Bra, Plus Size Sculpting Bra both have deeper moulded cups, and this is confirmed guidance from our fit team: a smaller bust that wants shape needs more padding, not less bra.

The light styles, VLite and Air, are the wrong tool for that particular job. They are excellent at being nearly invisible and they will not add shape.

Getting the band right on a narrow ribcage

A narrow ribcage is where most slim-frame fit problems start. If the smallest band in a style is still loose on the tightest hook, that style does not run small enough for you, and the answer is a different style rather than a tighter adjustment.

VLite starts at S, which is the smallest band we offer. Most styles run M to 3XL, with core styles reaching 5XL. Band-and-cup styles come in bands 34 to 44, cups A to DD. Between sizes on a seamless style, go up one.

Watch: What is underneath

Questions women ask us

I wear S in clothes. Do you have my size?

VLite Seamless Bra runs S to XL, which starts at S. Most other styles start at M.

Why do my cups wrinkle even in a small size?

Usually a soft cup with nothing to hold its shape. A moulded cup such as the T-Shirt Bra or Contour fixes it.

Is a push-up the way to get shape?

It is one way. Comfort Curve Bra is sized by band and cup, so use your exact cup rather than sizing up.

Will a band feel too tight if I am slim?

A correct band feels firm, not tight. If it leaves a deep groove, it is too small. Come in and be measured; it takes ten minutes.
