Business Operations Analyst
Part-time. Turn sales and stock data into the decisions that fund SHAPE's growth.

An emerging retail chain, growing fast.
SHAPE Lingerie is an emerging Bangladeshi retail chain, with five stores across Dhaka and a fast-growing digital business, known for quality and the trust of the women it serves. More stores are opening this year. That is exactly why this role exists.
The role
See it clearly, before anyone else does.
A store can look full while the sizes women want are missing. A product can run out in one store and sit unsold in another. Every taka in the wrong product, size, or store is a taka the Company cannot use to grow. Your job: see this clearly, every week, before anyone else.
You will break our sales and stock data down by product, size, colour, and store, and turn it into weekly recommendations: reorder, transfer, clear, or stop buying. This is working capital management, the skill that lets a growing company fund its own growth. You will practise it on a real business from your first month.
Your analysis goes to the Founder, who leads all buying. Your first project is already waiting: the complete stock picture for our newest stores.
Responsibilities
What you will do
- Produce one weekly report: what sold, how fast, in which sizes and stores, and what to order next.
- Maintain the reorder calendar, so buying happens on a plan instead of in a panic.
- Flag stock-out risks early, and find the slow stock a clearance would turn back into cash.
- Keep the product catalogue clean and accurate across our systems.
- Write a one-page, plain-language action sheet each week for our retail operations lead: what is wrong, at which store, what to do.
- Bring one clear number to the weekly management meeting, and good questions to everyone who holds a piece of the data.
First 90 days
What success looks like
Every data source mapped, gaps written down
Weekly report lands on time, every number traceable
Your recommendations used in real buying decisions
Baselines set, cash-release plan built by you
Requirements
What we look for
- A strong quantitative degree, in progress or completed: Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Economics, or Engineering. We welcome applicants from DU FBS, DU IBA, DU Economics, BUP, NSU, BRAC, and top engineering schools.
- Keen interest in finance and in how a business actually works. This matters more to us than experience.
- Curiosity. A strange number will not let you rest until you know why.
- Attention to detail. You check your totals and catch the mistake everyone else missed.
- Clear writing. One simple sentence per number, for someone who is busy.
- Strong Excel and Google Sheets: pivot tables, lookups, clean and organised work.
- Proficiency with AI tools, especially Claude. Open-source models or coding knowledge welcome.
- Reliability. Your report arrives when you said it would.
- Bonus: exposure to retail, inventory, or ecommerce data · SQL, Power BI, or Shopify reporting · a model or tracker you built yourself and are proud of.
What SHAPE offers
Compensation, learning, and growth
We write things down before we discuss them: documents over presentations, clear thinking over long meetings. And promotion here comes from closeness to the customers and the real work.
- BDT 15,000 to 20,000 per month for 20 hours a week, plus a performance bonus tied to inventory and cash-cycle outcomes: the numbers you directly help improve.
- Festival Bonus: 2. Other benefits as per Company policy.
- Learning and exposure: coaching from the Operating Partner, who has worked at Silicon Valley technology companies, with monthly guidance from finance and strategy advisers who are among the country's most respected people in banking and finance. Your work feeds real decisions, made by the people teaching you.
- Training on Claude and modern analysis tools.
- Where this role goes: strong performers move to full-time as Business Operations Executive and grow into broader operations and finance ownership. This seat is designed to grow.
How to apply
One form. Short written answers.
The form asks for your resume, a few short written questions, and an optional short video. It takes 10 to 12 minutes. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis; shortlisted candidates hear from us within a week and receive a small data problem to solve. Everyone gets the same file, and we care more about your reasoning than one correct answer.
